A captivating Bharatanatyam Arangetram by Kumari Amrutha Muthyala, disciple of renowned dancer and music scholar Dr. Smitha Madhav, Director of Varna Arts Academy, was held at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad, under the aegis of Varna Arts Academy.
The event was inaugurated by Aruna Bhikshu, Head of the Department of Dance, University of Hyderabad, who was the Chief Guest and ceremonially lit the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Aruna Bhikshu congratulated Amrutha Muthyala, daughter of Sudha Devi Muthyala and Kishore Babu Muthyala, on her Bharatanatyam Arangetram. She appreciated Amrutha’s dedication and years of rigorous training in the classical dance form. She also commended Dr. Smitha Madhav for promoting Indian culture and traditional arts through Varna Arts Academy and training numerous students in classical dance. She wished Amrutha continued success and many more performances in the future.
Bhargavi Parameswaran, Head of the Bharatanatyam Department at Varna Arts Academy, extended valuable guidance and support for the performance.
Amrutha began her journey in classical dance in 2018, while studying in Class III, when she started learning Kuchipudi under the guidance of Guru Dr. Shruthi Keerthi. From a young age, she developed a deep interest in Indian classical arts and the discipline associated with them. Later, with the blessings and guidance of Dr. Smitha Madhav and Bhargavi Parameswaran, she joined Varna Arts Academy and continued her dedicated training in Bharatanatyam.
With the blessings of Lord Nataraja and the guidance of her gurus, Amrutha has performed at several spiritually and culturally significant locations, including Nepal, Tirupati, Ayodhya and Kashi.
Amrutha is currently pursuing Class XI at PAGE Junior College. Alongside academics, she is also learning dance, basketball and Carnatic music.
Speaking after her Arangetram, Amrutha said that her Bharatanatyam Arangetram marks a significant milestone in her life and will always remain a memorable achievement in her artistic journey.
During the performance, Amrutha impressed the audience with her graceful and expressive presentation of Jagannatha Ashtakam, Sundara Natarajam, Maate Malayadhwaja, Tillana and Mangalam. Her performance received appreciation from family members, distinguished guests and the audience.
