The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, is organising Yuva Sangam Phase VII under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme to strengthen people-to-people connections and promote mutual understanding among the youth of India.
The first tour of Yuva Sangam Phase VII was flagged off from Sikkim University, the nodal institution, on 25 September 2026, marking the commencement of the Sikkim–Rajasthan exchange. The Rajasthan leg is being hosted by Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur.

The Sikkim delegation arrived in Jodhpur on 29 September 2026 and is participating in a series of cultural and educational engagements to experience Rajasthan’s heritage, traditions and history.

As part of the visit, the delegation visited Mehrangarh Fort on 1 October 2026. The delegates explored the fort’s historic architecture, courtyards and heritage spaces, gaining insights into Rajasthan’s history and architectural legacy.

The delegation also interacted with Shri Gaj Singh II on 1 October 2026. The interaction provided the young participants an opportunity to learn about Rajasthan’s heritage, traditions and historical legacy, further enriching their understanding of the State’s cultural heritage.

The Sikkim–Rajasthan exchange reflects the objectives of Yuva Sangam by providing young Indians an opportunity to travel beyond their home States, engage with local communities and experience India’s diverse cultural traditions. Through such exchanges, the programme seeks to foster mutual understanding among youth and strengthen the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and unity in diversity.
