Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on March 28–29

Hyderabad will host the Viksit Bharat State Youth Parliament on March 28–29, 2026, at the Dr. MCR HRD Institute, Hyderabad. The event will bring together more than 150 participants, offering a vibrant platform for young minds to engage in parliamentary debates and discussions on key national issues. From this state-level competition, three outstanding participants will be selected to represent the state at the final contest to be held in Delhi.

Hyderabad, India, March 26, 2026: The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament is a dynamic, government-led initiative (via MY Bharat) empowering young Indians aged 18-25 to contribute to the nation-building vision of a developed India by 2047. It provides a formal platform for debating policy, enhancing leadership skills, and bridging the gap between youth aspirations and governance.

Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 is a dynamic platform aimed at engaging young minds in the democratic process and encouraging them to contribute ideas toward building a developed and inclusive India. As part of the broader Viksit Bharat vision, the program focuses on empowering youth to actively participate in policy discussions, governance, and nation-building.

The event brings together students, young leaders, and aspiring policymakers from across the state and country to deliberate on key national issues such as economic growth, social justice, education, technology, sustainability, and good governance. Participants simulate parliamentary proceedings, debate contemporary topics, and propose solutions—helping them develop critical thinking, leadership, and public speaking skills.

The 2026 edition, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on March 28–29, will serve as a vibrant forum for dialogue and collaboration. It is expected to feature panel discussions, mock parliamentary sessions, expert interactions, and networking opportunities with policymakers and thought leaders.

OBJECTIVES OF ORGANISING THE VIKSIT BHARAT YOUTH PARLIAMENT
1. To hear the voice of youth between 18-25 years of age, through deliberations at District, State and National levels.
2. To encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man’s point of view, form their opinions and express them in an articulate manner.
3. To develop and enhance decision-making abilities.
4. To develop in them respect and tolerance for the views of others.
5. To develop in them an understanding that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively.
6. To obtain and document their opinions on the Vision of Viksit Bharat.
7. To make available their views to policymakers and implementers to take it forward.

Telangana: State Level Contest to Be Held in Hyderabad on March 28–29

The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 in Telangana, part of a national initiative, engages youth (18–25) to shape the vision for a developed India (@2047) through district and state-level debates, managed via the MYBharat portal. Events in Telangana occur through March 2026, featuring topics like national development, and are hosted at various institutions, including those in Nagarkurnool and Vikarabad.

District Level Contest earlier contested on the Topic: 50 years of emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy.

Topic for State Level Contest: 1st, 2nd and 3rd State Level Prize winners will be contesting in the National Level Contest which will be held in the first week of April 2026 and the topic of National Level contest will be announced few days before the contest.

T. Isaiah, District Youth Officer, My Bharat, Ranga Reddy District said, we were anticipating kind consent of several VIPs like Governor to whom we have extended invitations. As of now Gutta Sukendar Reddy, Chairman, Telangana Legislative Council has consented for inaugural function and Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Government of Telangana consented for valedictory function.
