Hyderabad, India, 8 September 2026 – The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027, an initiative of MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is being organised to provide young people across the country an opportunity to contribute their ideas, perspectives and innovative solutions towards building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The programme is being organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and is open to youth in the age group of 15–29 years as on 17 August 2026. Selected youth will get an opportunity to present their ideas before domain experts, Union Ministers and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
Briefing the media in Hyderabad, Anvesh Chinthala, State Director, MY Bharat, Telangana, outlined the objectives, participation process and various tracks of VBYLD 2027. He encouraged youth across Telangana to actively participate and use the platform to present innovative and practical solutions to issues affecting society and the nation.
Venu Gopal Rao, Joint Director, Youth Services, also briefed the media on the opportunities available to youth through the programme and urged young people to participate in large numbers.
Telangana under Technology and Innovation Region
Telangana is part of Region 9 – Southern Gateway: Technology & Innovation Region, along with Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
The regional theme is:
“Technology, Innovation & Future Readiness”
The key question under the theme is:
“How can India lead the next wave of frontier technologies while ensuring inclusive and responsible growth?”
The theme seeks to encourage young people to develop innovative, practical and responsible solutions that can contribute to India’s technological advancement and inclusive development.
Six Tracks for Youth Participation
VBYLD 2027 will provide opportunities to participate through six major tracks:
1. Viksit Bharat Challenge
2. Cultural Track – Folk Song/Dance, Declamation, Painting and Poetry
3. Design for Bharat
4. Hack for Social Cause
5. Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge
6. Youth Parliament
Multi-stage Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted through multiple stages:
Digital Quiz → Essay Writing → District-Level PPT Presentation → State VBYLD → National Grand Finale
At the district level, participants will be encouraged to identify local challenges and develop technology-driven and innovative solutions. Selected participants will progress to the State-level VBYLD, where they will present their ideas through a five-minute PPT presentation before the State Jury.
The National Grand Finale of VBYLD 2027 will be held in New Delhi from 10 to 12 January 2027.
Opportunities at the National Level
Youth selected at the State level will get an opportunity to represent Telangana at the National VBYLD in New Delhi.
In the Cultural Track, the State may be represented by:
* Folk Song – 10 participants
* Folk Dance – 10 participants
* Declamation – 1 participant
* Painting – 2 participants
* Poetry – 1 participant
Total: 24 participants
In the other tracks, up to 15 teams, comprising three participants each, may represent Telangana at the National VBYLD, totalling approximately 45 participants.
All the winners of Telangana participants will have an opportunity to present its proposal directly before the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
Registration through MY Bharat Portal
Registration, the Viksit Bharat Quiz and other VBYLD activities will be conducted through the official MY Bharat digital portal – mybharat.gov.in.
