The three-day conference will bring together experts, academicians, researchers, practitioners and students from India and abroad to deliberate on advancements in Ayurveda-based child healthcare, research and clinical practice.

The inaugural session on October 15 will be attended by the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, as the Chief Guest. Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush, and Minister of State, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, will attend as the Guest of Honour. He noted that AIIA has made significant progress in Ayurveda education, patient care and research. AIIA, New Delhi, has more than 200 inpatient beds and advanced diagnostic facilities, while the establishment of AIIA Goa in 2022 has further expanded its institutional reach. He added that KAUMARACON 2026 reflects the Institute’s commitment to advancing specialised Ayurveda healthcare, particularly in the field of child health.

AIIA is affiliated with the University of Delhi for postgraduate education and PhD research programmes and has received NAAC A++ accreditation. Its hospital is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). Kaumarabhritya: Advancing Comprehensive Child Healthcare

Kaumarabhritya is a specialised branch of Ayurveda that focuses on child health and well-being, including growth and development, nutrition, immunity, mental health and the management of childhood diseases.

The Department of Kaumarabhritya at AIIA provides outpatient and inpatient services, newborn care through a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), vaccination, mental healthcare and skin care. The department also operates a specialised outpatient service for cancer care in children and attends to approximately 120–150 children daily in its outpatient section.

The department has established the KINDER Lab (Kaumarabhritya Initiative for Neurology, Dermatology, Respiratory and related areas), a specialised diagnostic facility supporting clinical assessment and research in paediatric healthcare.

Prof. Dr. Rajagopala S., Head of the Department of Kaumarabhritya, AIIA, and Organising Chairman of KAUMARACON 2026, said that children’s health and well-being are fundamental to building a healthy society. He emphasised that Kaumarabhritya addresses the comprehensive healthcare needs of children, from nutrition and immunity to physical growth, mental well-being and disease management. He added that the conference would facilitate scientific exchange, dissemination of research findings and collaboration among professionals working in Ayurveda paediatrics.

The third edition of KAUMARACON follows the conferences held in 2019 and 2023 at Ayurveda University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The 2026 edition is expected to attract more than 500 participants, including experts, teachers, practitioners, postgraduate scholars and students from across the country. International experts from Brazil, the United States, Germany, Sri Lanka and Nepal are also expected to participate online.

The scientific programme will include a pre-conference workshop on computer-aided drug designing (Ayurinformatics) and diagnostics in paediatrics, an oration lecture, six scientific sessions, including a session with international experts, and 12 parallel sessions.

More than 175 scientific papers are scheduled to be presented during the conference. The deliberations will provide a platform for sharing research outcomes, clinical experiences and innovative approaches in Ayurveda paediatrics. The conference aims to promote evidence-based scientific dialogue, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen the role of Ayurveda in comprehensive child healthcare.

The three-day programme will culminate on October 17 with the Foundation Day celebrations of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, commemorating the Institute’s establishment, institutional growth and contributions to Ayurveda education, healthcare and research.

The Foundation Day programme will highlight the Institute’s achievements in academic excellence, patient care, research and the development of specialised healthcare services. Faculty members, students, researchers, practitioners and invited guests are expected to participate in the celebrations.

Through KAUMARACON 2026 and its Foundation Day celebrations, AIIA seeks to promote specialised paediatric healthcare, strengthen scientific research and foster knowledge exchange, while advancing Ayurveda’s contribution to the country’s healthcare system.
