Ministry of Minority Affairs is undertaking Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with a focus on institutionalising Swachhata, reducing pendency, strengthening record management, promoting responsible e-waste disposal and ensuring optimum utilisation of office space across the Ministry and its associated organisations.

Under this campaign, efforts are being made to clean and declutter workspaces, identify and dispose of obsolete and unserviceable items and scrap, clear unnecessary materials and release space that can be put to more productive use. A plantation drive was also organised to promote greener, healthier surroundings and reinforce the message of environmental responsibility.

A special thrust under Special Campaign 6.0 is being given to the responsible management of e-waste. The Ministry is implementing systematic measures to identify, segregate, collect and dispose of obsolete electronic and electrical equipment through authorised channels, in accordance with the prescribed framework. Through such activities, the Ministry is ensuring environmentally responsible handling of all electronic items that have reached the end of their useful life.

The campaign also focuses on the systematic review and management of official records in accordance with applicable record-retention schedules. The review and weeding out of records, wherever due, will help strengthen record management, improve information accessibility and support more organised and efficient office systems.

Reducing pendency is another key area of focus under this campaign. As part of ongoing efforts, the Ministry is conducting a systematic review of pending references and matters with an emphasis on their timely disposal within prescribed timelines. Effective grievance redressal and timely disposal of pending matters are also being considered as part of efforts to improve institutional efficiency.

With such sustained efforts, Ministry of Minority Affairs is striving to achieve tangible outcomes through Special Campaign 6.0, reaffirming its commitment to creating a clean, organised, efficient and environmentally responsible workplace.
