The Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW) is actively participating in the Government of India’s nationwide Special Campaign 6.0, aimed at institutionalising Swachhata and reducing pendency in government processes. The campaign is being conducted from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with a focus on improving workplace efficiency and promoting a cleaner and more sustainable office environment.
As part of the campaign, DESW and its attached and subordinate offices are undertaking a range of targeted activities across their establishments:
- Focus on E-Waste Management: DESW is prioritising the effective collection, scientific segregation and responsible disposal of e-waste in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules. The initiative promotes the concept of ‘Waste to Wealth’ by encouraging the conversion of waste into valuable resources.
- Swachhata and Workplace Upgradation: Comprehensive cleanliness drives and Shramdaan activities are being conducted across establishments to improve workplace hygiene, aesthetics and organisation, thereby creating a cleaner and more conducive environment for officials and visitors.
- Systematic Reduction of Pendency: Administrative processes are being streamlined to ensure the expeditious disposal of pending references, including grievances and Parliamentary assurances, with the objective of improving service delivery to the ex-servicemen community.
- Awareness and Institutionalisation: DESW is also implementing long-term measures to embed the principles of Swachhata into the routine functioning of the Department, with the aim of transforming campaign-based initiatives into sustainable administrative practices.
Through these concerted efforts, DESW remains committed to the objectives of Special Campaign 6.0, with a focus on fostering a cleaner, more efficient and responsive administration dedicated to serving the nation’s veterans.
