77th Republic Day was celebrated in Lokpal of India with great fervor and enthusiasm

Shri Ziley Singh Vical, Joint Secretary, welcomed Hon’ble Shri Justice A.M. Khanwilkar, Chairperson, Hon’ble Members, distinguished officers and staff of Lokpal of India on this occasion.
In his speech, Hon’ble Chairperson, Lokpal of India extended warm greetings to all on the momentous occasion of 77th Republic Day of our great nation. He mentioned that our Constitution is one of the longest written Constitution of any sovereign nation. It is a living and organic document. It embodies the aspirations, values, and collective wisdom of our people.
He further stated that “Republic Day is, therefore, a solemn reminder of our shared duty to uphold the ideals of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity guaranteed to all citizens – as enshrined in the Constitution. Only the Rule of Law can translate the nation’s commitment towards equality, access to justice, good governance, transparency, fairness and independent and accountable institutions.”
He further mentioned that “Corruption weakens public trust and corrodes the moral fabric of the society. The framers of our Constitution have envisioned a nation where power is exercised with responsibility and public office is regarded as a public trust. In fulfilling this lofty vision, the Lokpal plays a vital role of reinforcing accountability and strengthening citizens’ faith in democratic institutions.”
He further stated that the nation continues its journey to become a developed nation, the expectations from public institutions including from the Lokpal have never been higher. He exhorted to rise to these expectations by embracing transparency and fostering a work culture rooted in timeliness, accountability and citizen centric.
He concluded his speech stating “May our Tricolour always remind us of our duties, our unity in diversity and our unwavering commitment towards the goal of developed India, that is viksit Bharat.”
