Trailokya Arts Association, a renowned Kuchipudi dance institution, celebrated its 16th Annual Day with grandeur and diversity on May 3rd, 2025, at Ravindra Bharathi. The event was a spectacular cultural showcase, bringing together tradition, talent, and dedication.
A total of 130 students mesmerized the audience with performances in various dance styles. The highlight of the event was the dance drama “Narayana Te Namo Namo”, which stood out for its aesthetic appeal and emotional depth, beautifully reflecting the students’ commitment, discipline, and artistic training.
The event was graced by Professor Kotla Hanumantha Rao as the chief guest. He commended the Director and Guru, Smt. Indira Parasharam, for her outstanding service in the field of classical dance and her efforts in nurturing young talent. In his speech, Prof. Rao emphasized that while many students seek certification after just 1 or 2 years of training, classical arts like Kuchipudi require deeper engagement beyond mere certification. He cited Smt. Indira Parasharam as an example, noting that even after completing her M.A. in Kuchipudi, she continues to learn and refine her technique under Guru Sri Pasumarthi Venkateswara Sharma.
“Art has no limits,” Prof. Rao remarked. “No matter how much you’ve learned, there’s always more to explore. That is the true pursuit of art.”
Renowned storyteller and life coach Smt. Rama Ravi praised the students’ performances, highlighting their discipline, dedication, and finesse. She specifically appreciated the harmony and mentorship shown by senior students towards juniors, noting it as a testament to the structured training within the institution.
Sri Vedantam Venkata Naga Chalapathi, Kuchipudi maestro and recipient of the Bismillah Khan Award, delivered an inspiring address, stressing that mastery in classical arts can only be achieved through persistent effort and dedication. In today’s fast-paced world, he stated, cultural activities are essential for nurturing focus and clarity among children. Sharing personal anecdotes from his own student days, he illustrated how every opportunity was transformed into a moment for practice and learning. “Art is not just performance—it’s a way of life,” he concluded.
Other distinguished guests included Smt. Sudhamal (Kuchipudi Guru) and Sri Ram Kumar Kashyap (Principal, Neelakantha Vidyapeeth), who blessed the students and shared motivational words. They lauded the cultural initiative for contributing immensely to the students’ personality development and expressed special thanks to the parents for encouraging their children’s artistic pursuits.
In her concluding speech, Smt. Indira Parasharam, Director and Guru of Trailokya Arts Association, expressed her pride in the students’ discipline and dedication. “Today, our children proved that the arts are no barrier to academics,” she said, noting how many of them scored excellent marks in board exams while excelling in dance. “Arts greatly enhance students’ focus and goal-setting abilities.” She extended heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their constant support, and to the senior students for their dedicated mentorship to juniors.
