Hyderabad, India, April 23, 2025: Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Member of Parliament (BJP) from Chevella constituency, visited the exhibition stall of Sonkul Agro Industries Pvt. Ltd. at the Startup Conclave Hyderabad 2025, jointly hosted by CSIR-IICT, CSIR-CCMB, and CSIR-NGRI. The conclave is organized under the banner of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary initiative “Startup India, Stand Up India”, focused on fostering innovation and nurturing a strong startup ecosystem across the nation.
The two-day conclave, held on April 22–23 at Zaheer Memorial School Ground, CSIR-IICT campus, brought together startups, researchers, investors, industry leaders, and policymakers to facilitate dialogue and collaboration on innovation-led growth.
During his visit, Reddy was warmly received by Dr. Vivek Savade, head of Pheromone Development R&D, and Mr. Mahesh Sonkul, CEO of Sonkul Agro Industries Pvt. Ltd. The MP took keen interest in the company’s cutting-edge pheromone-based pest control technologies, which enable effective management of crop pests without the use of chemical pesticides. These eco-friendly innovations are critical in producing residue-free food, protecting the health of farmers, and preserving the agro-ecosystem.
Reddy highly appreciated the company’s efforts in promoting sustainable agriculture and showed great enthusiasm for the potential of such technologies in transforming Indian farming practices. He expressed interest in future collaborations and extended an invitation to the Sonkul team for a personal meeting to explore joint initiatives.
