ECI Releases “2025: A Year of Initiatives & Innovations” on the Occasion of 16th National Voters’ Day 2026

- The Election Commission of India celebrated the 16th National Voters’ Day (NVD-2026) today in New Delhi with the theme “My India, My Vote” and the tagline “Citizen at the Heart of Indian Democracy”.
- The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presided over the function as the Chief Guest, while the Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge), Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The event was led by the Chief Election Commissioner, Shri Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi.
- The publication titled “2025: A Year of Initiatives & Innovations” was released on the occasion, with the first copy being presented to the Hon’ble President by the Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge), Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal.
- The publication documents the Election Commission of India’s sustained efforts during 2025 to strengthen the electoral system through over 30 initiatives. It presents key reforms and innovations undertaken by the Commission in areas such as electoral rolls, conduct of elections, use of technology in elections, capacity building, proactive engagement with political parties, and the Chief Election Commissioner assuming the Chairship of International IDEA on behalf of India.
- The book also provides an overview of the major elections successfully conducted during the year including the Vice-Presidential Election, NCT Delhi Assembly Elections, Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections and highlights ECI’s proactive role and leadership in advancing electoral governance at the global level.
