Hyderabad: Slate The School conducted a 5K awareness run, SLATE SMART START, with the theme “5K Against 5 Pitfalls = ONE Mission.” The run started at Jalavihar, continued to People’s Plaza, and returned to Jalavihar.
Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Chairman Gutta Amit Reddy and Central Zone DCP Smt. Shilpavalli attended the event as chief guests.
They appreciated the initiative and said that through this campaign, Slate The School has united parents, students, and society against five major pitfalls that are harming people’s lives today. Betting (Gambling) – What begins as casual fun gradually becomes an addiction, destroying family peace, financial stability, and hopes. Many people lose their future in the desire to earn quickly. Hard work is the true path to success.

Loan Apps – Many families, deceived by the promise of easy loans, are suffering under high interest rates and harassment. This pitfall damages family dignity and stability.
Junk Food – The fast-food culture is destroying healthy habits. It leads to obesity, lifestyle diseases, and reduced immunity. When health deteriorates, enthusiasm, productivity, and quality of life also decline.
Mobile Addiction – Technology is a boon, but its misuse steals the innocence of children and the mental peace of adults. Families are staying together yet drifting apart.
Excessive mobile use is causing anxiety, loneliness, and lack of concentration. Rote Learning – When schools fail to encourage creativity and critical thinking, the nation loses innovators, leaders, and thinkers.

Education should shape minds, not just produce marks. Around 4,000 parents and students participated in SLATE SMART START. The event served not just as a sports activity but as a movement for social awareness and transformation, marking a strong step toward safeguarding the future.
